We’ve written in the past about how 3D printers are getting cheaper, becoming commodities like regular printers that are affordable to own, and could even let you make many things you currently buy in your own home instead. You can even build your own 3D printer from a kit for around $1500.
But the price of the printer is not the only barrier to more widespread adoption. Most commercially-available 3D printers must be loaded with a particular material used to build designs. And that can be expensive.
