PC Notebooks have built in keyloggers with internet controllers?

A friend sent me this website and I have to say, if this is true it is very disturbing. Could the US Government be requiring computer manufacturers to include a keylogger with an Ethernet host on their hardware during manufacturing? …or is this an elaborate joke?

  1. As they say you have to be the lat to break the law. Of course when some of us are paranoid and refuse to be exploited we’re considered pirates, hackers, and criminals. Much like DRM (aka copy protection) if you don’t need it get rid of it. >:-P

  2. Hey Kenny! I’m not going to open up my Powerbook to check… but you know this is the kind of thing that Jobs would fight so I doubt it is in there. Dell gets a lot of Government contracts so the Feds may have a lot more control over them.

  3. Well, it would be a nice addition to the V-Chip in televisions. I’d be surprised if this is true, but I’d also wouldn’t put it past some folks in government… I can hear it now… “Well Boss, it sounded like a good idea in the beginning.”
